The spread
of European diseases around the world
Through a long period, Europeans had built up partial immunity to
many diseases such as measles, smallpox, dysentery and tuberculosis.
When travellers and settlers arrived in the Americas, Australia and
many parts of the world, they and their animals brought death and
destruction to the tribal and peasant civilizations they encountered.
Filmed in an Australian graveyard, this recounts the tremendous losses
among Australian aborigines.
