Making an Ornamental Glass Tulip in Venice

Venice has been famous as a centre of glass production from the 15th century. At the Elite Murano Glass Factory on the island of Murano the making of fine decorative glass in an old tradition. Originally famous for its wine glasses and translucent 'cristallo' glass, now many types of coloured glass objects are made. Here we see the melting, shaping, joining and assembling that finally lead to a glass tulip. We see the base. stem, leaves and finally the flower being made with great skill.
