I have worked with my mother Iris Macfarlane on and off for much of
my adult life. She revised my book on The
Family Life of Ralph Josselin while I was in Nepal. She helped
check the Diary of Ralph
Josselin, and has read drafts of much of my work and commented
on it. She was also involved in developing the methods for the reconstruction
of historical communities and did a good deal of work on the Kirkby
Lonsdale records.
Reciprocally
I have been involved in gathering materials for a number of her works
on Indian history etc.
We have
jointly undertaken research and writing on::
'The
Life of Robert Chambers' (unpublished)
